boots advanatage card points

hi, i've posted this once before but didn't seem to get anywhere. q: does anyone know of a way to spend boots ad. card points on large items that are not stocked in store? their T&Cs say you cant spend them online. I have nearly £300 worth of points to spend and would like to spend on either camcorder or fridge, which can only be bought via their online facility... argh.

there may have been a post about this before and i just cant find the thread. please can anyone help... i'm desparate to try to use my points on my much needed electrical goods than spend my hard earned cash which is earmarked towards paying off my cc.

I haven't done this myself, but do remember a couple of MSErs posting about finding a way round this.

What they did is ordered the item online, paying with a credit/debit card, then returned it to the store, got their money back, and re-purchased it with points.

I am not sure whether they had to contact the store beforehand to make sure that they would do that for them.

As I said, I haven't done this myself so am not sure about all the details. Have a look at one of the old Boots Bargains threads on the Grabbit board, there's bound to be a post there somewhere about it. I'll post here if I find the OP. :)

i think someone also said they had tried that & weren't allowed to do it cos it wasn't an item they normally sold. presume like most things with boots it depends on the sales assistant! until they allow u to spend points online u may be out of luck. have u tried phoning customer services? could u say u can't buy online as u have no cards & ask if they can deliver to a store for u to purchase there? might not work but may be worth a phone call.
    good luck anyway.
