Hi, does anyone know of any sites that are similar to this one http://www.demandstudios.com/ but are either uk based or accept and pay workers from the uk, not the bidding sites like Freelancer and Elance but ones that work on the same principal as the above. Thank you.
Thank you for this site Martin

It sounds interesting. It'd be nice if something like this were available in the UK and hopefully with more art/creatives type jobs rather than just writing/filming. Thought I'd give your topic a bump since I'd like to know too.

EDIT: I found this article which suggests they may expand to the UK:
    paidcontent.co.uk/article/419-demand-media

Also in the comments you'll notice some discussion on a similar service.

I saw that article too, there are similar ones out there as well, Demand also own ehow which is a good starting point for this sort of writing, ehow also only hire in the US or should I say only pay US residents/citizens, you can write for them for free if you need the practise, this could look good if you were ever to be eligible to apply for Demand, the UK thing is supposed to happen late this year or early next, heres hoping;)Just for info my friend who lives in the US works for Demand, I have to say she is a prolific writer with a knack for this sort of thing and she clears easily $2000 a month thats without the private projects she gets asked to do from leads on Demand, not a bad work from home job if you can get it:)

Thanks Buttercup12, that site looks very interesting and also has some web/design/creative type jobs on it. Its interesting the ones running the site take no revenue at all making it a completely free service if I'm reading their FAQ right, wonder if they'll be able to keep it running like that if it grows. Will keep an eye on it. Cheers!
  • Demand Studios is now available for the UK! I've signed up and been accepted as a writer but haven't written any articles for them yet. Is anyone else on here a Demand Studios writer? If so, do you enjoy it? Got any tips for a newbie?
