Replacement Foam for Headphones – where to buy?

I've got an old, but great, pair of headphones, but the foam ear covers are beginning to wear out. I can simply buy replacements to fit, but the headphones are a weird shape and I'd have to buy direct from the manufacturer – at a steep cost.
What I'd rather do, as I don't care what the headphones end up looking like, is buy a sheet of the type of foam that's used for headphones and fashion it into ear-pads myself. That's bound to be a lot cheaper.
However, the problem is I have no idea where I might be able to get the foam. Any ideas?

Sorry I don't know the answer to this, but you could try ebay? failing that I'd say write the manufacturer and ask/beg for a replacement -maybe they have sentimental value for you?
I'd not recommend the sheet of foam idea- its not going to sit and stay on the earphones and unless you plug in the earphones and don't take them out all day, your very likely to lose them each time you take them from your ears. I would'nt even know where you could buy any foam to do that with.
Why not splash out on a new set? Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_p_4_5?rh=n%3A560798%2Ck%3Aearphones%2Cp_36%3A-1500%2Cp_4%3ASony&bbn=560798&sort=price&keywords=earphones&ie=UTF8&qid=1261356996&rnid=365489011 ), Ebay, play or even freecycle. They usually start around the £5 mark.0 -
Thanks, but these are *good* headphones (not earphones), costing well over £70 in their day, and I don't want to have to replace them for the sake of a sheet of headphone foam.
I don't mind how they look, and I have thought about how to secure the replacement foam, so I know it won't come off easily.
If anyone can think of anywhere I might be able to buy this type of foam, please let me know! Thanks.0 -

Put "foam cut to size" into Google and loads of sites come up. Sure you can find a cheap one.0
