Paid off some more
£878.21
I've been reading Martin's advice on debt vs savings and have taken the plunge and used £700 I'd set aside (savings I've carefully put away each month) to pay off my credit card.
I've also just applied for the Virgin 0% balance transfer for 14 months and been accepted so £1800 of my Tesco CC will be going over to that soon. That will leave me with only £452.03 on the Tesco CC which I'm planning on chipping away at each month.
I'd like to say thank you for this thread and the inspiration it has given me to get my act together. THANK YOU EVERYONEClear debts by July 2011 challenge

£5.53 paid off today thank you
Unfortunately the debt will have to increase next week as my car needs to go in for a service and I know there's going to be some expensive things that need repairing which I don't have enough money to cover, so on the CC it goes.

Hello Everyone,
And my car loan is GONE!!!
On to the next debt .....
Well done Misswissy!! It must be a good feeling. We've got two evil credit cards (40% APR!) that will be gone within the next few months, I cant wait. On the long slow slog now, seems like we've all settled into a steady rhythm. When does the nice lady with oranges and water appear?! xxTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
Desperate to post an update, but need to wait until 15th so all my statements are in!!
Changed days, I used to dread them coming in before MSE!!My name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!

Well just can't help myself...although supposed to be saving for a car, i'd rather be seeing the debt total come down so I've just paid some more off Barclaycard to take my total down to a round number...£15,300 which means £1k off since the start of the challenge - quite amazing as we replaced the tv on day one when it blew up and had a £1200 tax bill (which we had nothing saved for)! I know we've still got a long way to go but if there is any way I can get the figure starting with a 14 next month then I will be very pleased.0
