This thread is rocking!!! I think we're all fired up for the new year.

Another wee payment from me towards my student loan £72.19 most of which is the automatic payment from my salary but I sneaked an extra £30 in :D Total paid £6642.79 which I think puts percentage at 37.5%.

Well done everyone on the updates.

  • #29 here.
Repaid £1,058.71 (of £60k) to my debts in December.
Amount paid in towards them now totals £19,074.98.
    % = 31.7916333 .
Interest payments mean the the debts are reduced by rather less though.
Also, unfortunately, I needed to hit a couple of cards fairly heavily in December - mainly due to being unable to work because of snow and ice. Even allowing for this though, my net debt level did drop a bit.
Once winter is out of the way and I'm earning better again, I will be putting extra money toward my debts. I've been holding back since the summer due to knowing that the debt repayment hierachy on credit cards is changing since Jan 1st. I didn't want to put extra money towards debts knowing that the lowest rate would be paid off first.
At least I've managed to save up the taxman's bit this year - for the first time in quite a few years.

Thank PGBDF - I think December is a bad month for everyone for debt payments!
