Boots after-Christmas sales - 75% off now over?

I think that it would be fair if boots said something like
only 2 of each item to stop bulk buying but not fair to say £50 only:happyhear YUMMY MUMMY TO HENRY BEAR AGED 10:happyhearslimming world need to get back to target 25lb to goDisney World here we come May 2018:j0 -
I do sort of understand this if it relates to spend on an item, like if people are buying say 20 of the same thing perhaps its for resale and I can see Boots want to stop that on one hand - but on the other they still get their money so seems a bit odd to refuse a sale - also if people want for example (err what can I think of
) a No7 set, a Gok set, a foody giftset and a couple of large toys perhaps then that might take it over £50 and I cant see how Boots can refuse to sell that as its not looking like someone would be buying that for resale is it? I think if stores enforce this it will probably only be if people are loading up trolleys of loads and loads of the same thing.
I agree - would make no sense at all for boots to limit us to a £50 spend - after all they want to shift the stock pronto!! I also agree it is a bit of a pea take when people literally go up to a shelf and arm swipe the entire stock of 30 of one particular item off the shelf, so would be good if that could be stopped. No idea how they can "police" it though - don't think they can TBH. I suppose the only way would be to limit some of the bigger purchase "popular" items (£60 no 7 sets etc) to a maximum of so many per customer.0 -

Im sure there are loads of others who do similar, stock up on a certain thing for gifts or colleagues or whatever. Are Boots really seriously gonna say to people, sorry you have spent too much you will have to put stuff back? Not likely surely.
Was just thinking out loud re the way they might enforce it - there are a couple of things I want in multiples (tho not as many as 12 - just two of a couple of things) but still I just dont see this working too well and if in some stores theres riots on 'normal' sale day then I can see serious problems with 'sorry theres a maximum spend here' sale day!0 -

I think this is as likely to happen, as the poster who said "My daughter works in Boots and it's starting Tuesday" or the one who said "There won't be a sale this year" ........................... trolls!
