Where to go for family meet-up in Dublin Sun 27th December?

I'm heading to Dublin on Sunday 27th December to meet up with family (as it's a half way point for us all).
I'm looking for suggestions on where we can go (4 people) for 4 or 5 hours. We'll meet up for lunch first and won't be leaving Dublin until 6pm.
Is there anywhere (perhaps a hotel?) where we can get a good but reasonable lunch and where they wouldn't mind us hanging about all afternoon?
I know it's not really money saving but I couldn't think where else to post it!
Thanks for any suggestions.

That sounds good. I'm not sure how keen they'd be if we hang about all afternoon ... we have to get the train back so I can't drink too much!!
One of the party is a 'plain eater' but will stretch to a nice carbonara so something traditional, pub grub or Italian would work. We'll have about 5 or 6 hours before the train home so any suggestions as to what else we could do would be welcomed (& I have to assume that the weather will probably be rubbish and the shops full of bargain hunters). Might be worth checking out the bar food at the Gresham - it's to the right when you walk in. Lovely big windows for people watching. Also for sitting around, you could try the Atrium lounge upstairs at the Westin - bit posh but the hotel is very friendly - there are some menus on this site. Both hotels are fairly handy for the train; either walking or with nearby taxi ranks.0

There's a lovely big pub on the roundabout by the main entrance to Phoenix Park (sorry don't know the name) food excellent and if the weather not too bad you could have a wander in the park or even go to the zoo which is v close too and well worth a dander about!Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D0
