For those of you enjoy a dram or need to pick up a bottle for Christmas or New Year, Asda has some of the best prices that I have seen. See below for my top picks and comparision to Oddbins standard price. Oddbins do have a sale on but the Asda prices are still better.
Glen Moray - 12 year old - Asda £14.48 RRP £19.99
Great session whisky and wonderful value for the price. Even whisky snobs can't disagree that this is a cracking tipple.
Aberlour - 10 year old - Asda £17.00 RRP £24.99
Bit more rounded than the Glen Moray.
Bowmore - 10 year old £17.86 Oddbins RRP £28.99
If you are looking for something with a bit more edge then venture towards the isles. This Islay malt is a great introduction to the Islay malts for those not used to powerful peaty whiskies. You's never guess this was an Islay.
Highland Park - 12 year old Asda £21.41 RRP £28.99
HP is one of the most complete whiskies out there and the best 12 year old on the market at any price. It is truly exceptional and I've never known anyone I've introduced it to not to at the very least like it.
Enjoy.

This is sold by Aldi for £9.99. It is not a single malt but is not bad at all, either neat or with a mixer.:j0

Or get a bottle of Jura Single Malt from the Co-Op for about £16.50 - great price. YumYou don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0
