help with dolls clothes

Hi everyone
Ive bought both of my dd's a new chou chou doll each for christmas. Ive made a blanket for each of them and i would like to get them some new dolly clothes.
Having looked at the price of the clothes i'm trying to figure out a cheaper way of doing it. Ive seen the shops own (like toys r us) and they are ok but was wondering if anyone has ever bought any actual baby clothes, like babygrows or vests, for a doll.
ive been looking at the primark ones either in a size newborn or 0/3 months and they look like they will be ok.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

HI, i get my girl's doll clothes for the car-boot, they are real baby clothes and because little babies don't wear out there clothes they are always in great condition, and they are loads cheaper than proper dolls clothes which are ridicuously over-priced.

My DD (9) is constantly trawling the local charity shops for newborn or early baby clothes for Baby Annabell. Or we buy from car boot sales as already mentioned as they are normally in lovely condition, sometimes they haven't even been worn!

newborn clothes are still slightly too big, but if like me, and you buy your own kids clothes in a size up, then your kids will think having rolled up sleeves or trouser legs on clothing is the norm lol
preemie clothing fits best, but mothecare is the only place that stocks a decent amount of this, and tbh their clothing is a similar price to the proper chou-chou clothing anyway, so not much of a savings
as said before, best to go to carboots, where there is a plentiful supply of baby clothing

Asda do nice prem clothing.Tesco used to -I presume they still do. My dd was prem and has a few outfits that she wore for her doll-the ones I don't feel too sentimental about!!!
They're loads cheaper than 'named' dolls clothes. And actually fit the doll better than they fitted dd as she was very skinny.
Hope you manage to get some.July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.

I always had real baby clothes for my dolls from my little sister or cousin. Primark is always good but have a look around charity shops as well as you can often pick things up in fab condition for about 50p.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0

In my town we have a market stall that sells dolls clothes, think the woman on the stall makes them and they are made to fit all the dolls ranges available today.
I have in the past also bought clothes from the charity shop to fit my kids 'build a bear' teddies.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
