Whole Salmon are £4.40 per kilo at Sainsburys fish counter at the min!

£5.90 for a whole fish compared to £2.50 for a fillet? Yes please!

    Okay, confession time! I actually work for Sainsburys on the counters and yes, we're more than happy to fillet/portion/dehead etc. should you want us to :)

    Well. I am. I don't know about my colleagues in other stores!

    Thanks for the tip off - we managed to get one last year and had lovely salmon for months afterwards (I'm guessing you're only meant to freeze it for a month or something, but it was fine, we weren't ill, and we really enjoyed it to the last months and months later). Shall see if we have enough freezer room this year then! :D Thank you again :)

    Whole salmon is half price at Tesco and I'm sure it's less than £4 per kilo. 3.79 if I'm not mistaken ..HTH

    Well Sainsburys has the benefits of being all scottish and all raised to RSPCA Freedom Foods standards. Which is nice

    Still, under £4 a kilo is pretty damned good.
