Hi
Can the csa back date pay, my partners ex does not want him to pay as whatever shes claiming is more than he would pay, so he has happliy obliged and just buy his child clothes, takes him out etc. I have started to keep recepit and have pics of us all together etc if she ever tried saying he does not know the father. She has never contacted the CSA before so its not as if hes never offered to pay, i must mention he is a student trying to better his life for himself and his child.
Why is more credit not given to dads who give care and do wanna pay for there kids!!!!!!!
Please can someone help.

it would be backdated from the date she contacted the csa.
Is he a full time student? I think that would mean the csa would say he didnt have to pay anything but I might be wrong about that.0 -
Well from what i know he doesnt have to pay anything as hes a student but my worry is that when he qualifies she will try slapping him with csa payment and try back dating it, my partner owns his own home you see also which isi t would appear she thinks she has a entitlement to money from it as shes had his child. She keeps threatening that he has 'assests'?!0

she's spouting bollix.
take no notice, they cant backdate and if she had any claim on his house, she'd have had it by now.NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.
and, please. only thank when appropriate. not to boost idiots egos.0 -
the csa wont be interested in his house because he doesn't owe any arrears because there isn't a case. If he bought it after they split she has no claim to it. My ex only built up arrears from the time the csa contacted him until they managed to get some money from him.
When he qualifies make sure any payments are made to her bank account and labeled as child support, and dont pay her directly any more if you have any contact from the csa because then he will be building up arrears, work out what he should be paying and put it to one side so he doesn't pay twice.
If shes claiming IS (assuming that's what she claims)and doesn't declare any child support that is benefit fraud, so she might not want to contact them any way if she knows you can prove you have been giving her cash, and she will only be able to keep the first £20.
That's my advice based on my limited understanding of how it works, someone more knowledgeable might come along and tell me Im wrong!0 -
Right ok, the house was bought solely by my partner before they met and she never lived there or paid any bills what so ever. Do you think my partner shpuld contact the csa now while hes a student and make it clear he IS part of his childs life and is willing to pay, just so she can't turn round and try and make out either, she is not in contact with the father or he hasnt paid a penny.0

csa wont be interested. there is no case, so no arrears can be accrued.
they'll only get involved at the request of the parent with care (pwc).
i shouldn't worry too much, she'll come unstuck if she thinks she's going to get half his assets. just let her spout off and take no notice.NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.

Personally I wouldnt bother because I find it hard enough to talk to them and I have got a case with them. If there isnt a case I dont think they would be intrested tbh.0
