Hiya,
Just wondered if anyone knew whether there's such a thing as an online library where you can borrow books for free?
I'm asking because I'm trying to reign in my spending on books, but my local library is, quite frankly, rubbish. (And I've read all my own books, my friends books, my Mum's books...)
Any tip offs appreciated!

I have just started work in my local community library which is very small but you can order books from any library within Birmingham and get them delivered to your local library (aslong as it is within Bham) and it costs nothing.
Does your town/city have anything like this that you may not be aware of?0 -
I'm not sure- I will check though, thanks."People who "do things" exceed my endurance,

we have that in our library and we can request new books too it only costs fifty pence we can also go onto the library online and look at all the books and request them from there and i assume they would be sent to the local library0

I believe this is a standard part of the national library service and is available within any library.
There are a few "online libraries" where you can access e-books for free but I personally wouldn't want to have sit at my desk staring at a computer screen to read them and the cost of printing it out would probably be greater than buying the book. For anyone who would use a free e-books site the biggest is project Gutenberg: www.gutenberg.org0 -

I live in Yorkshire and although you can order books from other libraries, it is not free, but costs 50p per book.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
