Will this test help you?

Hello

Just stubbled on to this site by the FSA and thought it might be useful on here, it's to help people to realise their in debt and useful tips to get hold of the situation:

http://www.fsa.gov.uk/consumer/debt_test/index.html

Just thought it would help those who are still in denial about debt.

Ive seen this before and i think its rubbish

Theres no accounting for any sort of steps you have already taken and also i didnt see anywhere that it asked for a level of debt

TBH everyones situation is different and you are better off coming on here and posting an SOA

I think the same. There are so many thinks it doesn't take into account.I am not in debt, never have been (lucky me) and am very careful about not acquiring any. Still, it told me I'm in trouble at the moment!

I think that its good for people who are still in denial. The survey makes them think about the debt that they have and is a very good starting point. Its not perfect though.

Well I did ask if it would help anyone, I thought the FSA was actually trying to help people with it, looks like I was wrong.

Is there any website that actually does a test to show you that your in debt or do we just have to all wait till our 'lightbulb' moment arrives?

Hum, good question. What works with me is analysing my bank statement regularly. The definitive test is checking what you are spending against what you are earning. If there is more money going out than coming in, you must start to worry. And do something quick.
