I can't believe how expensive these things are. Does anyone know of a good but reasonably priced place to try?
So far Argos have been the cheapest at £99 but their cabinets are a bit smaller in width than the usual office ones. Likes of Viking are over £100.
Ebay are mostly pick up only and the ones that do deliver charge £15 delivery which makes the cost about the same anyway.

That's the sort of thing you can often pick up cheap at a salvage yard. Can of spray paint usually all you need to smarten it up.0

If I'm looking for something like that I usually take a drive round the local industrial estates looking for skips. Don't think it's failed me yet.It takes a tough man to make a tender Chicken :A0

We have a surplus office place - they sell 2nd hand ones for £20-40 each.
Maybe your town will have one in the yellow pages?0 -
Army Surplus style shops often have them too.
My ex-MOD Green one looks lovely sprayed Silver.

Look in your local freebie newspaper - often people just want to get rid of filing cabinets. Got 2 last year!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

Sorry I haven't rplied, I was called away with work for a couple of days. Thanks for your suggestions. I'll keep an eye out.
In the meantime, the wife has bought a small 2 drawer job from Tesco :rolleyes: until I can find what I'm after.0
