Thanks from me too Sarah, have tried it as well.

Had a very productive and money saving day today and at the weekend. We needed to change the carpet in the hall and up on the landing as the dog has ruined it over the years. OH pulled it all up on Saturday to see if we could stain the floor boards but they were all covered with white paint splashes. Then I had an idea of painting the floor with some brown emulsion we had left over from the dining room and then using a dark coloured varnish over the top leaving the brush strokes so it looks like wood grain. Came up a treat. Went out looking for two long rugs today to lay over the top and ended up in Dunelm Mill. Found two just the right colours and they were labelled up on the box above them for £2.49 each! We thought this must be wrong so took them to the till and they didnt come up as had no bar code. Then some other woman came over and said they couldnt poss be £2.49, that must be for the small size so the two of them tried putting it in the till by the description and hey presto they came up as £2.49 each. The 2nd woman made a quick exit lol.

Then I was looking for some fabric to back one of my doulbe quilts. They had some in there for £2.99 a metre and I wanted 2 1/2 metres so decided to have a look round the town and come back later. Went in charity shop and they had a king size duvet cover for £4 which has plenty of fabric for the quilt and lots left over for other projects and its lovely fabric.

Then went in another charity shop and found a lovely embroidery book for £2 with lots of projects in it and showing you how to do all the different stitches including machine embroidery.

Then to top it all off we went into Homebase to have a look at the wallpaper as we wanted a couple of rolls for a feature wall in our bedroom. Was expecting to pay over £20 as we wanted the dark paper with the big red flowers on. Found some in there reduced to £7.99 a roll so got the two rolls and put it up when we got home. Also found a staple gun which I have wanted for ages for just £1.

Don't know how much we have saved altogether over the last few days but a fair bit.

As we all know the great saga we have had with my mothers bday present,

She choose a coffee table- ordered it,in stock, now had a letter "out of stock, don't know delievery date, blah blah, do you still want it"

This must be fate as in the same post an advertising card came - do I want this product. YES YES YES, so have now cancelled the coffee table and ticked the box, returned the card and this is it

Hoping I will get the £10 from the financial product review, just read on the original thread that if you hadnt done your review by 18.00 yesterday. I checked the email I sent to them after I did the review and it was timed at 18.02 so the review must have been done just before the 18.00 dead line. Fingers crossed.

Edit to add that the dead line was only for certain reviews.
