cccs - how long to set it up?

Hi, i think i might have to throw myself on the mercy of the CCCS and hopefully set up a DMP, but i was wondering how long will this take and what do i do about the payments i can't afford to make in the meantime? Advice appreciated!!

    Hi Susie,
ring them immediately, they talk you through stuff down the phone, then make a detailed appointment in the following week to speak to a councellor.
In meantime, you tell your creditors it's in the hands of the CCCS who will be in touch with them.
    Cheers and keep smiling,

  • Hi Susie,

I am a newcomer on here, and 'I took the plunge' and contacted CCCS, I feel so much better having contacted them and with the support they give. My only regret is that I didn't find this board, and do it sooner. Good luck,

    Martinmerlin.

    Morning Susie,

If you ring them today, you will probably get a telephone appointment with a debt counsellor in around two weeks.

They will give you interim advice on what you need to do straight away.

MM is right, you do feel better as soon as you speak to them. They are so nice, and dont belittle you in any way. They make you feel all will be OK.

    Do it !!!

Give them a call right away 0800 138 1111 and your DMP could probably be in place for August :D your counsellor will tell you everything you need to know :D
