1 step forward,2 steps back......

So I've been feeling generally pleased at the way we have been getting our debts down, although I have had to recalculate our total debt as I did not include £2650 worth of overdrafts!

Anyhow, we currently rent our family home out and have tennants living there whilst we live in a (cheap) Forces married quarter. Our letting agent phoned this week to say the outside paintwork (windows, doors) are in desperate need of re painting. We have been aware of this for the last 2 years and have kept putting it off due to no funds! However we are, at last going to have to bite the bullet and get it done. We have 2 quotes back so far - £960 and £970!!!! We live too far away to go and do it ourselves and DH has got no time off (besides which he is rubbish at DIY). We can sort of cover it as we get £950 per month rent from our tennants but we also need to pay for this land we are committed to buying which is adjacent to the house and need to pay that in the next month - £2600. So things are looking pretty bad budget wise at the moment and to top it all we got DS1 weeding yesterday and not only did he take out the weeds but all the foxgloves and other flowers - I'm fuming!!

Just when you feel you are getting on top of things, I am having problems seeing past the next month at the moment. I have decided to start working some extra shifts at work to raise some holiday money for our camping trip next month, we'll also get ebaying too as we have found loads to sell.

Flipping debt!!!!!!!

I am completely rubbish at DIY but for £500 I will come and paint a bad job of all your ground floor windows (can't do ladders - as bad as spiders)!
