Payday on a Sunday-when should we get paid?

Hi all,

I've never posted on this part of the site before, but hope someone can help.

As the title says really, I get paid directly into the bank. If payday falls on a Sunday, when should the pay go in? Are there 'rules' on this or is it just up to the employer?

Thanks!

Tbh I don't know the answer to this, all I can tell you is I get paid on 23rd of each month and if this falls on either a Saturday or a Sunday then our money goes in the bank on the Friday so we get paid 1 or 2 days earlier. I'm sure someon else will be along soon to give you the definative on this though.

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning

Should be Friday as if they don't pay you until Monday then they will have witheld your money (technically) which they can't do.

Thanks to you both for your replies.

I've just spoken to our payroll department and they said we'll be paid on Mon! I'm really not very happy about it.
