    Fair
Yes I'm doing Holi event, will see you there. Saw Michelle (Belle on this forum) at fair today and she forwarded booking form for your event so will complete and return - can only do Sunday as elsewhere on the Monday. If I pay up front for 1 day how much is that? Also can you pm me your bank details so I can do transfer as no euro cheque book - or can you take sterling cheque at up to date exchange rate? Look forward to seeing you at holi event - looks like it may be quite messy with all the colour powders about - even a warning on the flyers that they don't come off!!
Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D

It's an indian festival of colours lol! Apparently there are loads of brightly coloured powders which people daub on each other but it says on the flyer to wear old clothes as the dyes are permanent!

what and where is holi event??!!!
  • Hi everyone, I am hoping to organise a fair in Holywood via the council in the Queens Hall in Sullivan St. Totally unsure of the cost because I checked out their web site and no cost given but will ring them and find out. Looking at other North Down community centre costs, they seem reasonable. Do my best to keep costs down by offering to advertise etc. I wont profit from the venue, just split charges between us. Anything to get a real good old craft fair running.

Just one problem, and you will know the answer! when would be the best time allowing for all other craft fairs ongoing. H'wood have the may day fair so in between or after! Hopefully they will see the benefits by doing their own thing too ie lunch/coffee/tea etc.

Happy to organise depending on feedback. Totally new to organising fairs but good at organising. Any ideas!

    Appreciate all comments. Tally ho!

Hi Pottyflower - this sounds interesting. There are quite a few events coming up so check the lists on this board for any dates that will clash. Most crafters are booked into most of the events listed here now, so it would definitely be worth avoiding them. Also, my advice would be not to have one too close to another in the same geographical area - people get all crafted out!! Would this event be free for people to come and look around? My feeling is places that charge an entry fee are less well attended, but others may have thoughts on this. You would therefore need to make sure your hall hire costs are covered by the table hire charges, but dont make these too high!!! Also, only 2 of each craft seems to work better, and not close to gether in the same room.

    Keep us posted though!
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T
  • Anyone had their place at the Holi festival confirmed?
