    Fair

Hi Faireire! Welcome to da Forum! Can you give any feed back about fairs in the South? I've done Carlingford a few times but that's all. People keep telling me Dundalk / Drogheda are ghost towns these days so have been put off but would love to give this one a go if it would be worthwhile? Also could only do the Sunday as am going to The Argory on the Monday will they let me do that? (actually that's probably a question for Scott, will ring him today) All feed back welcome on Southern fairs very appreciated. They also seem more expensive in terms of table fees but again, if we can make more then it would balance out!:D

    Hello Rach39

We have been trading down here for a year and done very well at some fairs and pants at others. The key to doing well have been location, pricing and numbers through the door. I did a holsitic fair here last year we had over 300 through the door and they spent quite well - i love just outside Drogheda and its not doing badly really - they have very few events etc so anything they have they like to visit.

You will be able to charge more and get it - and this event is very good value for a southern event - we all pay 100 euro per day for most fairs!...terrible i know. We sell a glass ring for 5 euro, boutiques that stock our designs sell them for 8-10 euro...we can only get £3 in UK! If your a confident, say hello to everyone, seller you will go down a storm - what do you sell??

I know the organiser - in fact i am helping out quite a bit myself...its my partner so i will tell him your calling. I hope that helps a bit....i would not advise him to run a fair if i didnt think we could get people in and we have 200 singles in teh hotel on the Sunday (they having a party saturday night - so thats a good crowd to start with. We have done too many badly run events - so he is running one to give crafters and foodies a great place to sell at and hopefully a huge crowd to sell too!

    All the best
    Fair
  • LOL i meant in my post that we had been to sell at some badly run events - one certain holistic fair organiser and some big agricultural events - not that scott organises bad events....lol:j

Anyhow off to sort out my own business now
