You have a point supermum......there should be a guide!!
Not only to protect organisers but also us traders!!
Looking at it from both points.......organisers "usually" hold fairs to raise money for good causes....they do the leafleting, promoting and try to ensure that there are customers for fee paying stallholders...(usually they have a wee stall themselves to raise more funds) And sometimes that involves their own wee stall having a few bits and pieces that say i would have (in which case i would always say to them that I will take my stuff off the stall so that they can get theirs sold IYKWIM).
As Stall holders we kinda know each other and respect each others trade, we know that there is competition and we also know that if such and such is doing a fair then there is NO way we would step on their toes!! (certain conversation between you and I involving a animal) Its called respecting each other!! But how do you tactfully approach an organiser? without looking like a (dare i say it) Winge?
I think you 100% right in the list of questions for organisers...
And i know there is no written guide for traders but there is a quiet RESPECT for each other!!
So suggestions of questions that we should ask Organisers?
Need to go and have a look through the thread to see where the origional suggestions are

Stall holders should be made complete a list of what they sell and be restricted to it. I know someone who runs 2 businesses and what they do is book in 1 and then produce the other and both are completely different. However they have now been banned from some shows because of this!0

This makes interesting reading and to be honest I am making notes so I can change my application forms and I WILL ask someone to leave if they are being dishonest on there forms. It is not fair on the people who work hard and are trying to be honest
On a different note how did Lurgan go?Jesus is alive!!!0 -
Couldn't go as working. Hubby was to do it for me but then we couldn't get sons back to college via plane and then they had to be taken to Larne for Ferry so guess what Hubby was doing! Thank goodness they are now back in Aberdeen cause they cost me a fortune whilst home!0

Ooh that makes me scared  - I run my stall with my usual fair trade stuff and hand knitted goodies, but hubby has his hair accessories business which I usually include a bit of, but I am ALWAYS honest, and would never want to tread on anyones toes! :TIm knitty, Im nutty, but I dont know anyone called Nora.0 -

Dont worry Supermum2010 wasn't referring to you or anyone else on this forum. Its someone I know and could write a book about.
I do know a friend of mine who attended a food & Craft fair @ Christmas and because part of her table wasn't classed as a Craft or Food they made her remove and wouldn't let her sell0
