Some years back, DH and I attended a fancy dress do - I went as a witch - I already had all the gear - long black dress, black shawl, black lacy gloves, Granny Weatherwax boots, even the broomstick; just had to cobble together the hat, which I did by combining a black wizard hat which I'd been given with my black winter hat, which has a brim - I literally placed the wizard hat over the crown of the other one, and wore both together. DH wore his tweed jacket and cap and borrowed a pair of old-fashioned goggles from a friend, thus looking like Mr Toad from Wind In The Willows.
