Thats really good, cos I ordered this without knowing!! So I should get it before we go.
Yes we are going to Butlins, not been before so if you have any recommendations, they will be gratefully received. I am taking 3 girls, 16, 11 and 10 and my daughters 16 year old boyfriend (well friend at the mo)
We went to Mablethorpe last year. We stayed at Haven and unfortunately had several problems, not major ones, but the freezer didn't work (my food defrosted!! only small freezer box, but a waste and couldn't buy anymore freezer ready made meals!!these would have been useful for 2 15 year olds coming and going!!), my daughter was over charged for fish and chips, she was only 15 and didn't dare say anything, the tables were always dirty, the plates in our caravan were greasy etc etc. I did send an email with all my problems, but no-one replied so I shan't be going there again!! I am sure loads of you have great hols there, but my experience wasn't so good and the fact they didn't reply even worse. we did inform them of the problems whilst on site, but no-one came to repair the problems.
I have booked a gold apartment this year (it was a gold at Haven too??) at Butlins, they look so nice. Should I request a ground floor???
Novice Butlins person here!!!!!!!!!! I need your help!!! I want my kids to really really enjoy this holiday. My eldest may not come away with me again!!
Until last year we used to go to a villa in France (ex travel industry!!! - 70% discount!!!!!!), so if you have any recommendations I am all ears!!!
I come from Leeds, anyone know the outside inn?? I would like to go for a meal to somewhere similar whilst away!! The outside inn is an Italian and has the appearance of being outside, ie it feels like you are in an old fashioned street! OK prices and Kronenbourg too!!!
Basically HELP!!

my kids have been going to butlins since 9,now 18,good kids clubs for all ages,i think the gold accomadation is 2 tier, stairs on outside and round building like a balcony,if u are half board food hall id underneath entertainment venue, one of them, when are u goin?we are in half price dates, fantasy island is great and market good for a bargain, good funfair in skeggy aswell which is about 60p on bus from front of butlins, dont know of an italian resturant in skeggy or surrounding areas0

we go 3rd July, day after my birthday!!
when are you going??ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -
Fantasy Island itself I think is quite small but I love wandering around the market for bargains. If your kids love swimming then you'll never get them out of the pool. It's excellent, with something for everyone. I live not too far away and when my stepkids come to visit they love going on a day pass.
The Butlins funfair is rather good too as (well when I went last time) it was free though you had to pay to go on the go-karts and trampolines. These extras really added up. I hope you have a great time.
If the kids love bowling I'm told that bowling is better at Ingoldmells than at Skegness pier. There's also stock car racing on during the summer hols. kids usually go free but smuggle in some pop and crisps as their prices are a bit pricy and the kids will probably want a souvenir of some sort. Look out for either Saloon 2litres, Formula 2's or unlimited bangers - something with a crash and bang. they often put on sky diving as well or monster truck thing (which can be tame but keeps the kids occupied.)
Have a great holiday and the fantasy island website states: "REMEMBER discounts are available for ride tokens just contact your local tourist information or check local press for details and vouchers."
PS. Don't know of an italian in Skegness. There is a Pizza Hut now just opened on the A52 near Focus, and there is an italian in a town called Spilsby (about 25 mins away- follow the A158) called the Italian Connection (market place on right.) I love to go there with friends for a get together.0 -
we go on 14 th july,have a great time0

Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -
all the info on the stock car racing is in the holiday brochure aswell,i thinks its wednesday evenings and people get very dirty if its raining0

just got back, but left my iron and it was new too!!!
I enjoyed the stock car racing.
We had good weather so spent most of the time on the beach, we found an area where there is a sea pond thing, ie an area where the sand is lower than the rest and the sea doesnt go back when the tide is out. It was full of tiny tiny crabs and lots of shells, great for all the kids big and little, but my youngest stood on a jellyfish and got stung!!!
Last night we the kids went to the amusements, so we went to the new bar, i think it is called the front page, but perhaps not. Anyway it was very nice chrome, glass and leather.
We went to see the comedian on Wednesday, he was very talented, but just a little rude for my youngest.
I forgot to take the details of the restaurant that quickstepqueen recommended, disappointed about that!! We went to Little frankies though, but the service was a little slow, even though the restaurant was fairly empty, they added 3 items to our bill as well, even though they were charged at nil, I!!! didn't receive them!!
anyway Pondie have a great hol!!!ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0
