After the excitement of the xmas run up (hahahaha working 11.5 hrs a day) I will be hopefully sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeping, I will live in my pjs for a few days until I need to go back to work. Then I'll make it up to the kids later :D

  • We'll be digging out the old video films and changing them over to dvd...watching these (some are about 20 years old and havent been watched for at least 10 years). Going for long walks with the dog and then coming home to tea and toast around our log burner. Visiting the seaside for a walk along the beach. Having lots of games, visits to the pub, dvd time. Perhaps visiting the cinema. Seeing friends and relatives ....but :( I have set aside one day for everyone to have a mini spring clean in their rooms (so i'm not the most popular person)

How refreshing to see a man who isn't planning on spending his days in the pub!!!! (Substitute this for on the computer, in the garage, or whatever the favourite hobby is!)

Suppose you could say the same for women too! However.....

The children have been off sick this week so holidays have come early grrrrrrrr. So far I've hired a van and driven all around the country picking things up. The children loved being in the Van! Today with the dusting of snow (and the hearty coughs the children have) we'll be making Christmas biscuits and whilst they cook, watching childrens DVDs.

We're also going to catch up with friends and family and probably have one day at the sales - just wandering round seeing what I can pick up for next year!!

If there is just the two of you have fun and relax together!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

I intend to be doing a fair bit of laying down, watching Christmas films and eating biscuits...

Is that not the law in every part of the country???? :D

Lots of jim-jam days for us all I think.... eating lots of good food, mainly stuff you can just bang in the oven and take out when its done (party food). Watching lots of rubbish films, watching the kids play with their new stuff.... watching the hubby play his online games on ps3.... reading books and probably surfing!! Oh yeah and having lots of lay-ins..... lovely to look forward to after a year of getting up at 4.45am... hubby is off from Wednesday all the way through to 4th Jan, which is very unusual!!

We go for long walks with the kids and dog. There is a nice cafe bar near us so we sometimes go there for breakfast or just a coffee. We might go to the cinema at some point and will prob go shopping after Christmas as thats when my DH likes to buy his clothes to get the bargains.

  • My OH is still at work whilst I'm off so I'll be spending my time getting the house spotless. Wrapping presents and making home made xmas treats as well as a few long bath and lie ins!

  • For us it is catching up with friends. This year also potty training my daughter!! But I'm sure that doesn't feature in your plans!!

When we were footloose and fancy free (pre kids!) we would go on lovely walks, just take off for a day walking in the Cotswolds, buy a map in a tourist office there and go on a round walk with a pub in the middle or end! A bit difficult to do with two under 5s! But hope to take it up again some time soon.

We would do a spot of decorating, take in a trip to London and see a show or just go to the cinema.

Goodness how I miss those days of just being able to take off!

Whatever you do, don't waste it, sinking your life away into a drink. Spend time having fun with one another, see some sights, enjoy your time. It is the time of year most of the country is off work, and is very much a relaxed time, so relax and enjoy it doing things you both like to do, and if you don't know what it is yet, give things a try until you find something you do.

    Have fun
