Best time to do the washing

I had electricians and a plumber working here
during the summer and all said the same,if its
switched on its using electricity. All of them said
that on stand by you are using the same electricity
as if you are using it,TV,freeview box,DVD players.
In here everything is unplugged if not in use and
when we all go to bed the only thing still switched on
is the fridge freezer. It seems there was never any
deal about leaving electrical items on stand by in the
past because electric was a lot cheaper. Now it tots
up.
If you think about it what is the use of worrying
about how much electric you can save washing
clothes when if like us you have for example,
3 x TV,s
3 x freeview boxes,
3 DVD players,
1 VHS player,
2 x stereos
3 ipods on charge
4 phones on charge
PC
laptop
This does not include the bigger appliances
in the likes of the kitchen all burning electric
when not in use,but left switched on with just
the little lights and dials on
Since following their advice our electric bills have
dropped considerably. My last electric bill end of
November £104 the same one last year was £168
now that is a considerable saving.Just do what I
did and nag everyone to death until they start
switching off too:j:j:j0 -
I love the 14 minute wash cycle on my washing machine. Now my shirts, worn for one or at most two days get a 'freshen up' wash at weekends, and now and then get a 'proper' hot wash. Is this gross? I shower every morning so I don't think so.
I never leave washing machine OR tumble drier on when I am out of the house.
I have a short wash cycle on mine
takes 31 mins 40c wash start to finish
but its proving quite a money saver on
the electric, like you a lot of what I was
washing was not stained,but even
things that are marked ,Ariel seems
to shift it.:j:j:j0 -

I stopped using the short lower temperature cycle as I found that underarms weren't as freshly fragrant as they should be  I use a normal longer, 40c cycle.
I couldn't get rid of my TD though!0
