Inspiration Needed

Hi All,
I am in need of some inspiration for my Christmas dinner. I am a vegetarian and have lots of food allergies. I travel to my family home for Christmas dinner and to make things easier, I usually take my own food which I prepare on Christmas eve. I try to take things that can be reheated in microwave to avoid putting things in the oven with dad's turkey etc...
This year I am struggling for ideas for something lovely. My main allergies are dairy and root veg (potatoes, carrots etc).
Any inspirational ideas for the main part of my main course?
Thanks all x

We usually have a Quorn family roast but not sure if this is dairy free or not, think it is, think it may contain egg but not dairy. If its suitable you could do some veg in a tomato sauce (peppers, aubergine, mushrooms courgette etc) to go with it. Alternatively you could do those veggies but add some stock and puy lentils to make a stew/casserole type thing, its really yummy, we have it with puff pastry but for a dairy free alternative maybe some homemade bread. Or for something more Christmassy how about wild mushroom and chestnut risotto. Sorry a bit lacking in inspiration but hope this helps0

If you like the fake meats there's one from Holland and Barrett that's a roast "turkey" joint and also one that comes with "pigs in blankets" and gravy. Both are vegan.Weight loss 2015: -4lbs January (thanks flu):wall:

Nigella has a stuffed pumpkin recipie that she recommends as a veggie christmas meal somewhere. The idea is you still have something impressive sitting on the table to rival the turkey.
I'm not allowed to post links but if you google nigella roasted stuffed pumpkin you'll find it0 -
Thanks everyone. Some great ideas here. The wild mushroom and chestnut risotto sounds super yummy.
Bet I now end up finding it too hard to decide which to have.....
Thanks again.0
