I'm down in Tyrone and we had another little bit last night. I wish it would just go away now aswell. I like looking at it as long as i don't have to go out in it.:rotfl:Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0

little bit of a blizzard in Donaghadee.........im still loving it but then again i only have to venture out for school runs!!
on another note-we went out last night to find a 'grit box' you know the ones that sit at the bottom of hills that the road service are supposed to fill? well anyway we found 1 but it was empty and and the next local town had none!! now i distinctly remember sitting on these when i was younger so where have they gone??? all we wanted to do was get a small amount to grit the very bottom of our drive and do our neighbours aswell because our drives are on a hill and lead straight onto a busy main road.....so if our cars slip down when we are tyring to get in or out it could be a disaster!!! Do we not get grit boxes anymore?it takes more energy
to hate than to love...
love and relax!0 -
I heard on a number of occasions the question of why local farmers cant apply grit to rural roads.. well I found out why now.. I heard from a farmer that Road Service put the "Job" for these local applications out to "Tender". This farmer got the tender pack and low and behold.. Government Contracts, being Government Contracts..... ALL Liability for anything that may potentially go wrong would fall on the farmer..... Typical Governmental Blame Game..... So nobody really took them up on the tenders... can't blame them really0

Interesting!!
May be worth investing in some!!
"" Since May 2006 German motorists have been required by law to use the most appropriate tyres for the weather conditions. In practice this means most drivers keep two sets of tyres – 'winter tyres' for the colder months when many roads are snow-covered and 'summer' tyres for the remainder of the year. Summer tyres may not be used when there's ice or snow on the road.
Alternatively, German motorists may use so-called 'all-season-tyres' and leave them on the car all year round. ""0
