Thanks iwanttosave - I'll try that site when I get home. I used to claim Tax Credits up til 12 months ago when my OH moved in with us. I did ask over the phone if I was entitled and they said no. Worth a try filling in the forms I guess. Also I am one of these people that claimed and got a letter saying I had been overpaid (their fault not mine) so figured if I was entitled it would be taken straight from me.0

For someone with debt to income rate as you are, I think payplan or CCCS would be able to look at a DMP for you. MY ADVICE IS DO NOT SECURE THE DEBT ON YOUR HOME. Its practically impossible to get out of. Also if property prices fall which they may well do, ( looking increasingly likely, with the massive rises) you will be in negative equity, your life changes adn you want to sell, you will owe the bank any difference between what you get for the house adn what you owe them.
In the meanwhile, I suggest generating as much extra income as you can, by selling what you can, earning more every which way. But the bottom line is if you are. Are you entitled to tax credits? Investigate this
Do call CCCS or Payplan the nos at the top of the page x
Thank you. I guess because I am used to getting more debt to clear debt that was the only way out that I could see. I'm going to try to see if I am entitled to any credits and also give them a ring.
Again thanks all. I just hope I can clear this before it takes over even more, fingers crossed! x0 -

Even if they do take overpayments from you and you are left with £10 a week, its £40 a month better off.
You should be able to claim with your partners income, although you have not posted how much this is. If you want to PM me and give me the age of your kids and your and his income last year overall then I will happily do it for you now.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

I was wary of contacting CCCS or Payplan in case it affected my credit score, although it's going to go down the pan anyway at this rate.
Contacting CCCS or Payplan will not be registered on your creditfile, you are only asking for advice and in the long run if you get to the point you cannot pay your bills your credit file wil be shot anyway.
Just to give you an idea when we contacted CCCS in February last years I thought we owed about £90k !!!!! Turned out it was £110k and we ended up doing IVA. We would not go bankrupt as we wanted to keep our house and I would have lost my job. I know it's scarey and for the last 3 months before we contacted them I was withdrawing money from my credit cards to pay my bills and live on and it got to the point it had to stop. We thought of remortgaging and Halifax turned us down and it made up sit back and look at realise it was not the answer. Even if we had got it it was only for £35k and we still would not have managed and would probally ahve ended up losing our home.
Sit down and go through your SOA again and list everything, TVL , car tax etc. Like advised by another poster check if you are entitled to anything else and chase the CSA (not even going to get into what I think of them )TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -
Mostly as above
DO NOT secure on the house!
Call CCCS on 0800 138 1111 and they will book you in with a counsellor who will get you sorted! All comments and advice given is my own opinion and does not represent the views or advice of any debt advice organisation.

Incomings
Wage 950.00
Family Allowance 100.00
Partners rent 450.00
1200.00
Is it just me or don't these incomings add up?
950 + 100 + 450 = 1500???
One other thing I'd add is this. If you are worried about losing your home then you need to talk to your partner about all of this. They are just that .... a partner....and if you can't both work together to solve a problem then what's the point?Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

It's me and excellent typing skills
- should read £1500 which isn't as bad as it read but still more than my incomings so need to get help. I tried to amend it but it keeps saying error on page. 0 -
