Tesco Club Card Points Voucher Expiry?

Hi there

I know this is probably posted somewhere but I just wanted to clarify something.

I'm planning on saving my vouchers to claim reward vouchers for virgin holidays so I can take my children to Florida for our dream holiday. I would never be able to afford it any other way, and I dont really need the points for anything else. We very rarely manage to get away on holiday(actually Ive been once in the last 6 years!!!)

My question is, if I wanted to save my points/voucers until I have enough to claim my holiday vouchers, will I be able to do this, or is there an expiry date? Or should I ring Tesco and ask them to accumulate the points until I have enough? Its going to take 2 years worth of saving I think, with extra point accumilation.

As you can tell, I'm a tesco clubcard newbie:j

hi there. Vouchers normaly expire within a 1 - 1.5 years or so, it should state on your vouchers. Best for you probably would be to transfer your points into air miles which you can top up with normal cash as well, but have a look on Tescos site or search on google about it for more infor and reveiws. My friends use it on travelling around the Europe and say it works out cheap, including hotels; but i'm not sure about long destances. Good luck;)

All clubcard vouchers last for 2 years from when they are sent out so if you join the christmas savings club, next years vouchers will be sent out in November 2010 and will be valid until nov 2012. Good luck

I disagree. Turning Tesco vouchers into Airmiles is the least efficient way of using them.

Example - I would need approx £62.50 in Tesco vouchers for one return flight to Prague - I only pay approx £60-70 for return flight anyway. And you turn £62.50 of Tesco vouchers into £250 of reward vouchers.

OP - I think they have 2 years expiry. But one think you can do is to go online and set your account up so you get the points only once a year at Christmas.

I also heard about people who once their vouchers were due to expire rung customer services and they put them back onto their account and then got new vouchers with their next statement (with new 2 years expiry date).

Though I have to point out - you are aware that there is a limit of Virgin vouchers you can use towards a holiday?

thank you to everyone who replied, I am now going to join the christmas club and receive them once a year, wait to the last minute then convert them to reward vouchers.

As to the limit yes I know about it, its £700 pounds worth of rewards per person but from what I've worked out (albeit on this years prices plus inflation) and with 2 - 3 years to save up, it will cost me £1200:D for a two week holiday to Florida including car hire and full comp insurance and all park ticket, plus a few extras for 2 adults and 2 children...normally just under 4 grand!:eek:

Along with Spending money this is something I would never normally be able to afford, but saving £100 a month, plus just doing my shopping as normal, this may be possible!:j It will be a once in a lifetime trip, with children aged 7, 8 and 30! :rotfl:

Ps, I would consider Disneyland Paris instead, but unfortunately none of the offers give you that for a stay inside the park....
