Renewing gas burner 'thingies'.

I used an oven cleaner on my (presumably) stainless steel gas burners and now they have gone a dull grey and look even worse!
I've tried all sorts including bicarb and vinegar/lemon. Is there any product which will restore the gleam? Or even something to re-coat them
