I think the OP is just referring to the way that if an item is on BOGOF, but you are lucky enough to find them in the reduced bin, then when they scan through the checkout, although they are reduced the price of a full price item is also deducted automatically by the system because it knows there is a BOGOF.

So you end up with free items - or indeed being paid to take them away.

When Sainburys have stuff on BOGOF and it gets reduced the BOGOF still stands and the original money still gets taken off.
Works very well with strawberrys in the middle of summer :)

My OH got flapjacks that were on reduced and BOGOF from Sainburys before xmas, the young girl behind the till was confused as to why she owed him 18p :rotfl:

We get this often with the four pack of chicken breasts when they are buy two for £6, if they are reduced enough you get them for - money, or often for 20p each or such. great stuff!

Has nobody else found that alot of Sainsburys BOGOF offers are actually double-price in the first place? I saw this last week, with 4 Mars bar ice creams BOGOF for 1.99 (but only 97p in Tesco in the first place).

I think this is a common sight in shops, some choose to do BOGOF on certain manufacturer offers wheras some choose to sell the single items for a lower price.
