My 360 keeps on not being able to read discs when I put them in!
I've tried cleaning the heads with a cleaning disc, but the problem persists.
It's quite old, is there anything I can do without get Msoft to fix it/buy a new one

Someone help meeeee!0 -
sounds silly buttttt have you tried cleaning the game disk ( from inner to outer not round and round ) with a soft cloth, or tried a different position with the console e.g. if it was stood up laying it down ?0
-
Yes, it's always laying down.
I have also resurfaced the disks several times.
The problem is with the console.0 -
I had this with my Mk1 Xbox, bought a replacement drive on ebay & fitted it myself, was really easy.
Looks a bit trickier on the 360 as you need to mess with the firmware.

This happened to my Xbox. Have you tried clearing the cache, rebooting the machine without the HDD attached or standing the console up on it's end. I know this sounds a bit daft but they were all things suggested to me by XBox support before I finally gave up and sent it for repair."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

Yeah I tried all of those, not sure how old it is...a few years probably so I imagine Microsoft will refuse to repair!0

They will repair it, but it won't be for free. Unfortunately the drive isn't covered by the extended warranty.Dave. :wave:0
