    Have you made a formal appeal to N/wide? If you've been turned down by the automated scoring system, they have an obligation to consider the application manually, particularly if there's something that may make the 'score' wrong.
    It's probable that they'll still say 'no', but if you have some positive factors to put forward (very low 'loan to value'; well within 'income multipliers'; excellent 'payment history'), you might win them around. If it's tight on income and your up to the limits on your credit cards, it'll be more difficult.
    I assume my query about "financial associates" with poor credit history isn't an issue.

    I think that you should discuss this situation in detail with a whole of market adviser and let them find a lender that would disregard the property in the background and find the right lender in terms of rate/features that you want for the new property
