My two pennorth on cleaning stuff.
I too love the old soda crystals. I was at an acquaintance's house and she had a repair man there to fix her Miele WM. He advised her to use the washing soda on a hot wash once a month to de gunk all the pipes.
I love the smell of Toilet Duck, but it does not remove limescale I find. Prefer Harpic 100% limescale remover for toilets.
For cleaning I mainly use a little washing up liquid, vinegar and water in a spray bottle.
Bleach to whiten the toilet once a week.
I like Zoflora disinfectant as it gives a lovely fresh smell. Very economical but some may find the smell over powering?
The microfibre cloths are excellent for cleaning glass and windows I find, as is good old newspaper.
I plan to make some of my own liquid detergent this weekend.
1/2 bar aqua soap
1 cup washing soda crystals
1 cup Napisan (Can't be bothered to hunt down Borax)
Enough water to fill a big old saucepan I have. Then decanted into old FC bottles. I find this therapeutic.
I like using this mix for coloureds. Use whatever cheapie powder I can on white washes.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

When my brother comes over from France where he lives he takes home as many tea bags as he can, usually around 1-2000 as he doesn't like the tea over there and he says our tea is so much cheaper.0

Thanks Butterfly and thanks also Larmy for the fab cleaning advice - I'm feeling really inspired to spray the house in vinegar and soda crystals when I get back in the new year!
JackieO Teabags are my number one purchase when home - I normally buy Sainsburys Red Label by the hundreds but am going to stock up on the basics ones following a recommendation on here.
I had nearly run out of my stock of teabags last week (very worrying) and my mum very kindly sent me a box of teabags - Typhoo no less!! I haven't opened them yet as I am saving them for special occassions :rotfl:

For me my favourite cleaning product in the bathroom is Fairy Liquid (sorry, I wont compromise). Use it on a sponge and always rinse with cold water. Leaves no smears on shower doors/taps etc. Vinegar/Water for toilet.Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0

Fairy Liquid? Washing up liquid?! That's interesting - thanks!
How on earth did you discover that? :rotfl:Bon App's Scraps!MFb40 # 130 -
