Have anyone heard of this company, the Old Man has informed me that thy have sent him a letter saying they have been nsructed by Comercial Credit Services for an outstanding amount owed to BT Group.
I know he asked BT for a full Breakdown of his final bill due to a dispute, and othing hasever been recieved, not even fom Commercial Credit Services to say it had been passed to them.
They wat payment within 5 days which i know they wont get cause he dont have this money to hand, so they will have to accept a payment plan, if they can supply thebreakdown like requested from bt? can these people just turn up on the door as their name suggest?

A DCA cannot turn up at the door without an appointment, if he doesnt make one and preferably tells them he wants all communication in writing and does not want to make any appointment for any day or time to meet them in person. They are not allowed to come round under OFT guidelines - http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/consumer_credit/oft664.pdf2.1 It is unfair to communicate, in whatever form, with consumers in an unclear,
inaccurate or misleading manner.
2.2 Examples of unfair practices are as follows:
g. ignoring or disregarding debtors' legitimate wishes in respect
of when and where to contact them, for example, shift workers who
ask not to be telephoned during certain times of the day
2.11 Those visiting debtors must not act in an unclear or threatening manner.
2.12 Examples of unfair practices are:
a. not making the purpose of any proposed visit clear, for example, merely
stating that collectors or field agents will call is not sufficient
Also he should have been told the debt had been passed on,2.5 Putting pressure on debtors or third parties is considered to be oppressive.
2.6 Examples of unfair practices are as follows:
e. not informing the debtor when their case has been passed on to a
different debt collector
As to the debt, first port of call is to reply with a prove it letter - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11570893&postcount=2
They will need to prove he is liable for the debt, and the amount owed is correct. So they will need to send statements. I don't see why BT cannot take the debt back as it was in dispute with them for failing to provide a breakdown of costs, but you should get advise from others on here too.

Thanks fror the quick reply, He isnt saying he doesnt owe BT anything, as he disonnected before the contract was up, what he is disputing is the amount, and how they came to this amount cause BT didnt send a breakdown, just a figure of the amount owed.
Therefore do i send them the prove it letter, even though he knows he will owe them something, just that they havent supplied a breakdown for the said account for him to check that it is correct.Awaiting Inspiration......................0 -
And where i say do I send them the letter, i will be doing everything on his behalf, as he isnt great with written words, or anything, not that claim to be any expert either, lolAwaiting Inspiration......................0

Send the prove it letter to the DCA 'Face2Face Contact Ltd', as you are disputing it, it is best to send it as you want prove the amount is correct which you do not believe it is.
If you want to query the amount it might be quicker to either ask BT directly, or SAR BT for all the information and work it out yourself. SAR template - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=26867941&postcount=14
All BT should charge is the remaining contract length, then add on any additional call charges occurred more recently.
i.e. 4 months left at £12 line rental so say 4x£12., + other call charges.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Well emailed them late last night, they have just mailed back, to let me know that it has now been sent back to BT as it is in dispute.
So just telephoned them and the woman was actually very polite, unlike the companies i have had chase me before i cleared my debt, made a nice change...........
well hopefully bt will now come forward with a full breakdown, and then it will get settled, once i double check the figures.Awaiting Inspiration......................0 -
Good to know its back with BT.
Your on the right track, ask for a breakdown and/or all statements and work out the correct amount owed.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

You know what, I had some communication from them in about july. They sent me a card with a number and gave me a few phone calls, one day they turned up on my door when I was struggling up the stairs with the buggy and shopping, my missus was in bed ill. I told him in no uncertain terms that it wasn't a good time to speak to me now. I then spoke to them a few weeks later on the phone, he threatened me with court action etc and I told him where to put it. This was for, what I believe, about £70 i owed to hotpoint for service work on my dryer, even though I was paying £15 a month cover. Since then i've heard nothing.
I hope your old man gets it sorted, but judging by the guy they sent round to my place he shouldn't feel to threatened (spooty little oik, fresh out of school springs to mind!)2014 wins:

They should not even be allowed to trade under this " Face to Face " name. It just smacks of aggression. It is like calling a private abortion clinic " Rip Your Fetus Out "0
