Hi everyone !
After reading how plastics contain estrogens and apples have 20 - 30 different chemicals on them
I am very interested in having less chemicals in my home and eating organic.
My income is low but any ideas would be much appreciated
Is it possible ?

Decide where your initial priorities lie and do it gradually, is my advice. If you shop like you normally do, but buy organic, you'll find it very expensive.
You may have a local grocer or a delivery scheme near you. I use the local grocer and now get a delivery too and this means I don't go to the supermarket very often which has cut my bill down by a lot as I'm not putting things I don't really need in the trolley.
Also, if you know when your shop gets its organic delivery in, try shopping there either the night before or first thing in the morning, when the older stock will be reduced to make room for the new stuff. Buy in bulk when things are reduced and make up batches of food to freeze.
We get organic dairy too, partly for animal welfare reasons, partly health and partly just because it tastes so good. It's much more expensive than non organic, but I get that in Morrisons and buy the milk in bulk when it's reduced if possible, and always freeze it. Organic cheese is really tasty and I find a little goes a long way, so it balances out.
But like I said, I didn't do everything all at once. Just one step at a time.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
hi... there's a book called not on the label....which fern and phil were talking about on this morning a while back... so i bought the book, ...i was petrified to buy certain foods after that.......what i want to know is how can these companies and growers get away with it... there are certain chemicals that are banned in this country, but yet we are importing foods from countries that still use them...and the poor chickens that you buy in the supermarkets..
sorry about my little out burst......it has taken me ages , but i have managed to get an allotment...
depending on the room you have... to try and save money,, why dont you try and grow some food.... even if you havent got a lot of space... or time you could grow something organically......plus its going to be so fresh..... and you know exactly where its come from...
as me personally... know that certain products that are suposed to be organic are not.... i have worked in serveral factories.. and if they run out they will use non- organic in organic packaging.....plus new zealand lamb marked up as welsh......
but good luck...Work to live= not live to work0 -
