Christmas hamper for children - question about wrapping

My mum and I are having a bit of a disagreement about some hampers we've done.
We've jointly made a hamper each for my young cousin's Christmas presents (age 4 and 7). One is an arts and crafts, and the other one for the colour pink.
Anyway, we've made quite a few before for adults, and never wrapped the individual gifts with wrapping paper - and then wrapped the box with cellophane, and then a big bow. However, I think this time we should wrap them. The girls are young, and I think they would prefer to unwrap their pressies! Once the cellophane is off, it would all be over - where as wrapping them would make it last much longer.
My mum thinks if we wrapped them, they wouldn't realise the theme and would look nicer not wrapped individually - but the whole thing with cellophane.
We will still wrap it with cellophane and a bow either way, but I think we should also individually each item within the hamper.
So what do you think? To wrap, or not to wrap?!

Other - explained in the commentsI've seen some people on here wrap te whole hamper up in wrapping paper and then wrap it in celophane. Means you can't see what's in it from the outside. Could that be a compromise? There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.
Noone can have everything they want and the sooner you learn that the better.
MSE Aim: To have more "thanks" than "posts"! :T0 -
Im having the same thought. Im not sure what to do. i have a hamper for my mam but i know she loves unwraping. but that kinda spoils the hamper idea. im not sure.It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

Other - explained in the commentsI've made movie hampers for my son & nieces for the last few years and to get round the wrapping problem I've cellophoned & ribboned the baskets of unwrapped items then popped them each into one of those giant gift bags you can buy in card shops (I've bought mine 2 for £1.50 at a local Card Factory shop). The hampers are quite large, but fit in the bags perfectly. I then just sticky tape along the top of the bags. The contents can't be seen, but the recipients then get the full impact of the hampers when they open the bags.0

Yes - wrap each individual item in the hamperI'd say wrap them individually for their ages. At 4, they won't get the theme until it's pointed out to them anyways. For little ones, the 'present' is more exciting than the product inside it. A box full of wrapped presents will be so exciting for them!0

Yes - wrap each individual item in the hamperi wrapped my poressies inside the hamper and think it looks FAB. I am sure with such obvious themes as them it will be just as effective on the floor around them. I couldnt imagine giving babywiggle just 1 thing to open (even if it had other bits in it).loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
