On JSA, job interview in the morning - don't want the position

You signed a JobSeekeekers agreement (JSAg)when you first made your claim. Did you say to the adviser that you didn't want to travel any distance to get to a workplace? 2 Hours travel a day seems reasonable to me.0

Definately go! They might not offer it to you in any case. If nothing else its good experience for interviews.
If you get offered it, THEN, speak to the benefits agency about whether you can refuse it.
Someone on here got their JSA stopped for not atttending the interview you dont want that to happen
that would be me, and defiantly go the positives outweigh the negatives, now im looking at living on £27 quid a week,0 -
Maybe discuss your concerns about the hours and see if you can go part time, as they are a employer they have a duty to consider the request from a carer.
Again check your JSAG to see what hours you have agreed to.
If you do get the job then the JCP maybe able to help with the first months bus fares under a ADF.Nothing to see here :beer:0 -
If you do get the job, you may get to know someone who can give you a lift and you give them petrol money?A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -
But after researching where this company is based it will take me 2 bus journeys to get there and approx an hour travelling. I would never have applied if I had known it was so far away! Plus the bus fares I'd rack up over the course of a week if I was to get the job!! (2 buses there in the morn, 2 buses back in the evening, 2hrs travelling per day.)
Two hours commuting a day? So no different than I've done for most of the last 20 years then. And currently it costs £40 a week. Judging by the long queues in a morning, there's millions of others in the same boat.0 -
How many of the saints on here are mothers with small children and are commuting two hours each day?
None of you, I bet.From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

Well said.0 -
Go to the interview anyway. Chances are the employers will not pick you for precisely the same reason that you don't want the position anyway - if they have several candidates of similar calibre they'll pick someone who won't potentially have a problem getting into work.0

Erm me :hello:
OP I do understand the difficult position you're in
I guess the best you can hope for is to not be offered the job, you'll just have to wait and seeFuture Mrs Gerard Butler
