Um, 'not worrying' about your credit rating seems ok now, but try saying that again when you want to buy your own house, or get credit in the future. These things show up on your rating for 6 years or more. That's a long time.

I certainly wouldn't just not pay your bills. If you can't afford to move, why are you doing so?

Sorry to sound a little harsh, but it seems that you are taking a great risk. You earn a good wage, there's no reason you can't pay off these debts in a more sensible manner.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

That takes money. How you going to afford that then? How do you know you won't meet the girl of your dreams and then want to get a house together? You just going to say 'oops, can't cos I went a bit daft when I was younger and now can't even borrow a pen'.

You're on a very good wage, and if you apply for a DMP they're going to look at you expenditure etc. Wy not post a proper SOA (see sticky at top) if you're serious about wanting to pay stuff off without putting yourself in even more debt. Besides, you can't 'tell' your debtors you'll make token payments, you can ask, but at this stage they don't have to accept it, especially if the reason is 'Cos I've moved town without thinking about it too hard and need a flat sharpish'

Often, in fact most of the time - landlords and letting agencies will do a credit check.

If you don't work out a budget now, how do you know you'll be able to afford to live there when you're there?

My OH and I are moving from London to Norwich (we live with his family at the mo) so I can go back to uni but we're having to budget and plan everything down to the last details cos we don't wanna f*** up when we get there and find out we can't survive there. This has meant for the past year I have been getting rid of debts and the OH has been saving as he doesn't have any debt, luckily. But at least we'll be going there as financially secure as possible.

Right Im moving to london from liverpool at the end of the month, which Im really excited about haven't even got anywhere to stay yet but I think thats what exciting me.My jobs sorted when I get there but Im going to have to skip my bills for a month to pay my deposit and months advance, also have to pay my holiday off aswell this month. (yes this is why Im in debt I dont do things by half)

    Soa

    Cahoot cc - £5000.00 - £100pcm
    Cahoot Flexible Loan - £4000 - £80.00pcm
    Halifax Loan - £12000.00 - £241.00pcm
    BOS Loan - £2500.00 - £113.00pcm
    Halifax cc - £2250 - £75.00pcm (over my limit)
    Baclays cc - £850.00 - £45.00pcm (over my limit)
    First Direct O/D £600.00 - £35.00pcm
    Halifax O/D £200.00
GYm - £185.00 (has gone to debt collectiion agency)
    Work Loan £900.00 - £100 pcm

And thats it I earn £1695.00 pcm Which I know is good for my age but Im always broke, Like I said the plan is to move out, stop paying my bills for a few months until Im sorted in london Im not too bothered about my credit rating as I dont want to ever borrrow money again.

So what I really know Is in the words of Dr Pepper ''What the worst that can happen?''

Im going to send letters to all my lenders advising that I will making token payments for the next 3 months at least then I will look to enter into dmp with cccs.

Im also going to make a claim against my bank for unfair bank charges.

Im 23 and have been paying theses bills for the last 3 years making various sacrifices throughout which cost me a relationship that was very important to me, so even though It might come across that Im trying to shirk my responsibilities Im not Im just sick of living a half life.

On the bright side I had Torres In my dream team

Firstly, it looks like although you say you don't want to settle down, you have had a serious relationship in the past so it may happen again, even without you wanting it.

Having said that, are you on the re-bound from this previous relationship? Is this why you are moving away? To start a new life?

Also, how do you think you will be able to claim against your bank for unfair charges if you stop paying them? You will be the one who is at fault, and you will not be able to make a successful complaint.

Lastly, your intended bad credit record will have an effect on your parents, as it will be noted someone at their address defaulted on payments, it will affect their credit rating.

Think this through, get some advice perhaps from the Citizen Advice Bureau, or similar, meet your commitments and move forward with your life in a postive way, not just running away as you intend to do.

Are you intending on paying council tax for those first few months you are intending on skipping the bills? Council tax is a biggie you should not get behind in paying cos it can land you in prison.

As for the other debts - I think as SS says it's bailiffs, CCJ's, defaults, etc. I'm guessing as you don't care about your credit record you'd only be bothered about bailiffs coming to take your stuff.
