Need to use up

Options
As I am trying hard not to throw things away, I have come unstuck with OH going away for a week leaving things he would have eaten!

I have some single and double cream I need to use in something that can be frozen

I have 2 bags of oranges that I need to do something with

I have 16+ frozen bananas

I have heaps of flour

I have a couple of rashers of bacon

I have heaps of goats cheese

I have lots of normal things to, but just want to use this stuff up before I have to throw it away.

Any ideas greatly received please

Many thanks

Mx

If you whip the cream first you can freeze it as it is.

For oranges why don't you try doing the lemon sorbet that I have just posted on Piratesses thread but use oranges instead

Bananas - make bread and muffins

Bacon and goats cheese make quiches

hmmm Orange sorbet, what a fab idea I'll go and find the receipe, thank you!

I already have two loaves of banana bread to eat! Might try some muffins and take them into work and see if I can force them to eat them out of politeness if nothing else!!

I love this site it never fails to make me laugh, but with all the ingredients I do have it suggests a Courgette and pepper fritter of which I am missing the vegetables. In fact all I have is the cheese - they want pamesan, I have goats cheese, oil and the herbs :rotfl:

and Bacon surprise, which was bacon with tomato sauce. I don't have tomato sauce so I guess it'll be bacon no surprise!!!

However, it did have orange biscuits which sound yummy and easy so I will be making those and I guess some orange juice as they only need the rind!!!

    Thank you Gers.

Slice up the oranges and freeze. They can then be used in drinks as a tasty replacement for ice.

Flour keaps for ages or could make some tasty sponge cakes and freeze them so later they could used in tiramisu or trifle. or make some scones. herb scones would go lovely with grilled goats cheese and bacon.

Thank you Zombiecazz, I like the idea of the scones I'll try making a batch when I get home. OH could eat them with the frozen cream too if I make some without herbs.

Make a creamy pasta sauce with the bacon and cream. Just fry some onion and garlic, add a stock cube and the bacon and cream and some pepper. Should freeze ok.

Make scones, pizza dough and wraps out of the flour and freeze.

You could just freeze the oranges whole and juice as needed.
