Loan with Abbey

Two years ago my husband and I got a loan from the abbey. My husband is self employed which we told them about. We took out PPI due to his work.
My husband has not been working for the last past 3 months due to the recession, so I tried to put in a claim on the insurance. I was told that because my name was put down as the lead my husband wasn't covered by the insurance. I have looked through our agreement and could find no mention of this.
Any advice?????

  • Firstly read through your agreement as many times as you can!
I've found 'new' points in my agreements after the 4th or 5th reading!

Secondly, do you remember what was said on the initial call when the PPI was taken out? These calls will be recorded & if you asked 'Will my husband be covered' and they said 'Yes' then this will give you some legal weight.

    Hope this helps!

New Years resolutions...don't get my signature removed and set up an A-Team style MSE crack survival team. P.S Apparently mrb1 and David 32 hate me. This makes me sad :(
