What kind of pension is it? Final salary or money purchase?
Did the company contribute to the pension?
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

Yes the company did contribute to the pension the first one was a final salary and then it was moved to a "smart 100" what ever that was.

If the "Smart 100" was a money purchase (defined contribution) occupational pension or a Group Personal Pension, it will be invested in funds run by a fund manager or insurance company.Your employer should have given you details of these, and you should have been given the opportunity to choose which funds your money went into, and told how to monitor your pension's progress.

Do you have paperwork referring to this?
