Hi all
We all love a bargain and I couldnt resist a cheap frozen turkey........ Trouble is, its a whopper!!
Weighing 8 KG it barely fits in my oven and I was wondering if anyone has tried to either cut one in half or joint it a bit whilst still frozen. Then when the big day comes I could just cook the crown.....
I suppose I could cook the whole thing but I find that frozen cooked turkey isnt much good - or maybe its my cooking!!!
Any ideas or advice appreciated

I cook mine this way - cut off legs and bone, stuff and roll legs (so they look like a pork loin or rolled pork belly). Put these one one shelf in the oven a good half hour before the rest of the turkey goes in on another shelf. You do need to make sure the turkey breast is very well buttered between the skin and the flesh, cover with strips of bacon and then baste well while cooking. If you're short of space you could happily cook the stuffed leg rolls the day before. Everyone gets a good slice this way and the turkey is much easier to carve.
Forgot to say - I couldn't do this while it was still frozen!0 -
