Buying a Digital Camera/Mobile phone- now or after Christmas?

Hello all.
Looking to buy the missus a camera and/or mobile phone in February. Is it better to buy them now while websites are knocking them out in cheap sales or wait till after December?
Just asking as i'm not sure how the January sales affect electronic goods! But I see Amazon are selling decent cameras up to 50 per cent off at the moment.

There are some good camera deals around (I've been hunting for my daughter!) and I can't really see them getting much cheaper. Don't forget that VAT will increase in Jan too.
Have you looked at Jessops? Their website has some good offers and gives you lots of info about the cameras.0
