Shortbread pastry is high content butter pastry making it short and crumbly. It's normally used for desert dishes.
Typical recipe
200g plain flour
300g unsalted butter
1 egg
1 egg yolk.
pinch of salt.
Everything has to be cold.
Rub the butter into the salt and plain flour.
lightly beat the egg yolk and egg
combine with the flour, the mixture will be wet
Roll out the dough between two sheets of cling film
once rolled leave to cool in the fridge before cooking for about 1/2 hr.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
