Just starting to do the forms

Hi i am just starting to fill out my form for BR and am getting alittle bit confused, it says dependents, my partner is 8 months pregant and due to have our first child next month, do i include this in my application?

Also the statement of affairs has baffelled me, im using the Insolvency websites online forms and they dont have a great deal of detail in what they are asking.

1. Rent/Mortgage
2.Housekeeping
3.Gas/electric/heatin
4.Water
5.Telephone
6.Travelling to and from work
7.Clothing
8.Maintance and fines
9.Council Tax
10. Other essentials

I dont know what to put for some of these, for example highlighted Clothing, i never buy myself anything as i cannot afford anything so what do i put for this? nothing?

    answering your specific question..

Just because you can't afford clothes doesn't mean you don't "need" clothes (e.g. work, interview etc)
So put down a reasonable amount usually (I think) between £30 and £50 for one person.

Use the link that kerry posted and then pop it up here and people will help with it :)

  • I just dont know what the averages are, for example i hardly spend anything on food to be able to pay bills and creditors off so i would say i spend around £30 a week tops on food, if i put that down it would seem abit odd to a OR that i have so much spare cash but cant pay my bills.

  • Thanks for the advise, the heating is so expensive as the area we live we dont have gas, we have a system that does the heating, hot water etc and at the moment it is costing around £30-£35 a week! which is quite shocking, but we have no alternative as gas is not plumbed into our house.

We get no housing benefit we have a tiny 1 bed house £50.95pw :(

How much would you advise to increase the grocery by when baby comes?

yes the petrol is for us OH car, water rates are included in the rent, it works out at £4.51 so x4 to geto around £18.00.

i though the clothing was for both of us thats why it is £100 :S

i have 2 dogs, but they are residing with my mother at her house as ours is too small and we only recently moved.

It is just me going bankrupt.

OK. just make sure that the OR understands this. We lived in a flat where in winter we were putting £50 a week on the meter, so know where you are coming from. Have you done any of the price comparison sites?

You put all the joint bills down as you have, then your own personal expenses down. You put your full income down and your OH contribution to the joint bills.

Put the car under the section that asks about vehicles you have use of. on the form
