How much does it cost to vaccinate a kitten?

Hi all!
I have just got a gorgeous 8 week old kitten and I am just wondering how much it might cost to get her vaccinated. I have read that the first jab is a 9 weeks which will be next week. Can anyone give me a rough idea of cost please?

For dogs, different vets charge different prices. It's best to ring round a few in your area or ask fellow cat owners for recommendations, then go with the one you feel happiest with.
Here I go again on my own....

    Congratulations!

I think I paid about £30-40 per kitten. Phone up your local vets and ask them questions, I phoned the nearest one to me and they spoke the biggest amount of twaddle I wouldn't take my cats anywhere near them!! They wanted to vacinate too early and neuter too late!

Edited to add, that was the total cost for both vaccination per kitten

Seem to remember it was only about £20. They normally do it in 2 goes. Remember to get them boosted every year. I'm sure if you ring a few vets you will get a rough idea of the cost

1st is at 8-10 weeks, second about 4 weeks later then annual booster

If the price you get when you ring round is over £20 per injection then ring elsewhere. Some vets do a vaccinated for life thing where it is a certain amount and they don't pay for routine vaccines again, but you'd have to trust they won't close etc
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

It all depends on what you have your kitten vaccinated for. It should cost about £45 for the Feline Infectious Enteritis (F.I.E.) and cat flu and £65 in total if you have the Feline Leukaemia (FeLV) at the same time. Remember these prices are for the complete course not per injection.

When you phone up your local vets to check, make sure they give you the price for the whole course not just the first ones!

We had ours vaccinated for everything, and it cost about £150 I seem to remember for 2 - so £75 each. As the last poster says, that is per course, not per injection (as there were 2 sets of injections a few weeks apart).

After the initial injections, the subsequent boosters are not as expensive - only about £40 per cat.

If you call up your nearest boarding kennels they normally have a good relationship with local vets and can offer advice.

  • Am taking my little rescue kitty to get her first lot on Saturday! Having the double dose so Cat Flu and Leukemia, total will be £73!! She can't go into a cattery with out them though.

Does anyone know if she can go in a cattery with just the first set of injections?
 Have champagne tastes...but got a beer budget!!
  • I always think the boosters are a vet money making scheme! The flea sprays are £25 at my pet shop it's £10 Exactly the same active ingredients amount everything!!

Oh and the wormers, it's the same as my pet shops are 100% effective! The Vets are ripping us off!!
Help me to help you :santa2:
