Apologies may be a silly question but we're thinking of asking our current mortgage lender for some additional funds for home improvements.
Will we be credit checked in the same way a normal loan or CC or do they just look at internal scoring?

Both in most cases. But some lenders will have an automatic amount that you may be able to draw on.
