Can I do this with just egg white? Am seperating 2 eggs for pastry and not in mood for meringues, so wondering if I could glaze my sausage rolls with just egg white, or maybe milk too? Or is the yolk essential for that lovely shiny finish?
Thanks

I would suggest milk, it's common to use as well as the egg yolk. And with egg whites you can make wonderfull coconut cookies from David Lebovitz's site http://www.davidlebovitz.com/archives/2005/06/an_american_mac_1.html .
Very-very easy to make and almost foolproof and no need to whip egg whites. And very tasty0
