Or if Sky mistakenly takes an additional £100 from his account ontop of his normal payments he just switches to Virgin.. Sod the £100 they are a business & it all fair...
Me thinks Spartacus lives on another planet or doesnt realise that there agreed pay increase were won on the back of a concessions. So the workers now have to forfeit the pay & give the concession & loose out two fold.
Ahhhhh but it ok in business to back out of deals whenever it suits one party... Ummmmmm. Not..
As for a dodgy fuel deal that costs hundreds of jobs.....

Incredible.
The Union plans to strike from 22/12 to 2/1.
This must be the most stupid, ill advised strike action ever. The perfect example of why Unions are so detested.
If they were going to strike then why not strike from 5/1 when people are on holiday and are forced to stay in the holiday destinations they were on holiday at.

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble
Yes it is unfortunate to be paid less but is redundancy for yourself and 50k others who are not involved in the strike really a better option?I think....0 -

No.
Its just idiots who get paid hundreds of thousands of pounds who think they can railroad reduced salaries & benefits at the same time as receiving bonuses.
Cuts should start at the top & remain at the top until all the "boards" salaries are in line which the people directly below them.
Then & only then do they have a right to ask anybody at the bottem on the chain to go without.
Lead by example...
But I dont expect "I Spatular" to understand that one.Not Again0 -

I do not disagree that the pain needs to be across the board but there needs to be pain and they need to get on with it. The taxpayer should not have to bail them out and that would be the other option.
However the current action is not justified given the parlous position of the business and cuts need to be made. The luddite attitude of the BA Cabin Staff will not help."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

In fairness 1984, Willie Walsh and his executive team cancelled their bonus and did not receive any salary for a month (accepting that when you are worth £1m then a months pay freeze isn't going to impact you that much) - but as gesture politics go, it was right up there with the best of them.
I don't think you'll ever achieve the nirvana of the CEO earning the same £15k as the cleaning lady - that is just not feasible in reality and even the communist model has to have at least a few people at the top with palaces and fancy cars whilst the rest have a bowl of rice to eat.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
To strike at Christmas Time - or Easter or bank Holiday or School Holidays (which is the usual Union tactics if we comapre with previous year strike) is suicidal for the airline.
This is the only time the airline will have every seat filled with fee paying passengers, passengers who'll pay top price for tickets which'll go onto the bottom line of the business.
This is nothing but a deliberate and selfish blackmail against the business and its passengers and maybe the Uk can do without a part-Spanish owned national carrier after all.
Still, like the posties, it is more about petty gesturing and "look what I can do if you don't play nice with me' politics. No doubt the strike will be cancelled soon enough but the damage, like the posties before them, will have already been done, with customers booking with another airline.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Yup Willie Walsh is an idiot, but he will be an idiot with a big pension when BA goes bust.
What will the workers do? Go to Ryan Air?
They haven't really thought this through.0
